Company founder, Roy Sokolowski, brings over 30 years of direct portfolio management experience, perspective and market analysis to help shape his investment philosophy to serve his clients. As part of the recent company expansion, Roy is responsible for managing the WestView Investment Advisors branch office in Hilton Head, SC and looks forward to welcoming new clients.

WestView Investment Advisors was the brainchild of company founder Roy Sokolowski. Roy started his career in finance joining Paine Webber as a financial consultant. Over his tenure with Paine Webber and later Merrill Lynch, he managed clients through the crash of 1987 and the long bull market of the 1990’s. While this was valuable experience, Roy also discovered that the commission-based model was not for him. Intuitively he felt that there had to be a better way to serve his clients. This prompted him to form his own company (originally branded as Sokolowski Investment Advisors) as an independent, fee-only Registered Investment Advisory Firm in 1998 where he could place the clients’ best interests above all else.
Also joining the newly formed company in 1998 was Pat Sokolowski (wife and business partner) who started as the firm’s Operations Manager. Pat helped build the business over the next several years while taking on increasing responsibilities. Pat and Roy realized early on that the best way to serve clients was to provide comprehensive services that paired financial planning based on the clients’ goals with asset management services that matched the plan. In 2007 Pat earned her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation allowing this strategy to flourish.
The company continued to grow and expand in Burlington, Vermont. In 2017 Roy and Pat decided to spearhead a second (and warmer!) location in Hilton Head Island, SC where they are currently working.
We believe the best way to provide financial services is through a planning-based model as an independent investment advisor. Brokers and insurance agents may appear to provide the same services but there are inherent differences and often conflicts of interest. We are full-time fiduciaries and are passionate about helping our clients and acting in their best interests; we sell no “product”, no annuities, no insurance and receive no commissions. We begin our journey together by getting to know our clients through a financial plan and risk assessment and use the plan to measure our success along the way.
